Kimba Raises $6.5 Mn in Seed Round led by Selva Ventures

The company raised the money in two stages. It first secured $1.1 million in a pre-Seed funding round. Later, it raised an additional $5.4 million in its Seed round. Fresh Fund was the company's first investor and also participated in the latest funding round.

Founded in 2024 by Ben Fuxbruner, Kimba creates a personalized sleep profile for each user based on their sleep habits and preferences. It uses specially designed water-based and plant-derived scents that are tailored to help improve the user's sleep quality.

The system continuously tracks important biometric data while a person sleeps, including breathing patterns, body movement, heart rate variability, and stress levels. It collects this information through sensors built into the Kimba device and through connections with wearables such as WHOOP, Oura, Apple Watch, Fitbit, and Garmin.

Kimba’s AI analyzes this data in real time to understand how a person's sleep changes throughout the night. Based on this information, it releases carefully timed scent cues that are personalized for each user, helping improve sleep depth, reduce interruptions and support better recovery.

Kimba uses the sense of smell to influence the brain during sleep. Because scents can be processed by the brain without waking a person up, the system can support sleep naturally throughout the night.

The company provides personalized scent-based sleep solutions that are tailored to each user. These scent interventions are designed to help people sleep more deeply and wake up feeling more refreshed without using drugs or disrupting their sleep.
