Knest raises INR 300 crore from Lighthouse

Lighthouse Funds, a private equity firm, announced on Wednesday that it has invested INR 300 crore in Knest Manufacturing, a construction tech company. This investment comes as the need for modern building solutions is growing in India.

Knest focuses on advanced building technologies, such as aluminium formwork systems and specially designed hydraulic safety screens.

The new funding will help Knest speed up its research and development, grow its factories, and improve control over its supply chain.

Founded in 2015, Knest offers construction technology that makes building projects faster, safer for workers, and better for the environment.

“We are building far more than formwork—we are building the future of Indian construction, of high rises, sprawling skylines and sustainable urban ecosystems,” said Nitin Mittal, Founder of Knest. “With this partnership, we gain not just capital but a like-minded partner in Lighthouse who shares our vision for innovation, operational excellence, and sustainability. Together, we aim to push the boundaries of construction technology in India and beyond.”

Knest runs three factories in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Every year, they can produce over two million square metres of aluminium framework. They are also growing their range of safety products for construction sites.

This investment will also support Knest’s goal of promoting eco-friendly building. Instead of using wood, their products use reusable materials that can be used 150 to 200 times, helping to reduce construction waste.

“Knest exemplifies the kind of future-forward, mission-led company we love to back. They’re fundamentally transforming how buildings go up. With a sharp focus on sustainability, safety, and speed, Knest is poised to lead the next wave of construction innovation in India,” said Sachin Bhartiya, Co-founder and Partner at Lighthouse Funds.
