Kotoba Technologies Secures $11.83M in Seed 2 Funding to Advance AI Speech Technology

Kotoba Technologies is a company based in Tokyo, Japan. It makes AI models used in real-time speech applications.

The company has raised $11.83 million in Seed 2 funding.

The round was led by Globis Capital Partners and Boost Capital, with participation from SIP Capital and a group of global angel investors.

The company plans to use the money to grow its operations and reach more customers.

Kotoba Technologies was started in 2023 by Noriyuki Kojima and Jungo Kasai, who have PhDs from Cornell and the University of Washington.

The company builds advanced AI models used in real-time speech applications.

Kotoba plans to launch its technology globally in August at major press events. This will be one of the first real-world uses of AI for live speech-to-speech translation at big events.

The company will also soon release its most expressive text-to-speech (TTS) models in Japanese.
