Lavni Ventures Launches Early-Stage Deep-Tech Impact Fund

Lavni Ventures has launched a INR 200 crore deeptech impact fund to support India’s most promising science-based startups.

The Fund will help innovations in climate, healthcare, energy, and education grow and reach a global audience.

With help from government programs like the National Deep Tech Startup Policy and the Deep Tech Innovation Platform, Lavni Ventures’ Fund II plans to invest in technology-based solutions.

These investments will focus on solving some of the world’s biggest problems.

Lavni Ventures says Fund II will invest between INR 2 crore and INR 8 crore in startups at the Seed to Series A stage, and INR 8 crore to INR 15 crore for follow-up funding.

The Fund reviews over 800 deep-tech deals every year and picks companies that have strong business models, clear impact, and good chances of success.

Lavni’s portfolio companies, such as Padcare Labs, Monitra Healthcare, and MedPrime Technologies, demonstrate the strength of India’s deep-tech ecosystem.

Together, startups from Fund I have helped over 3.5 million students learn, supported more than 10,000 healthcare interventions in underserved areas, and saved 303 metric tons of COâ‚‚ equivalent by FY25.

“The successful launch of Fund II, with strong repeat participation from Fund I LPs, validates our core thesis: Indian deep-tech founders are uniquely positioned to deliver scalable impact and attractive returns,” said Vasu Guruswamy, co-founder and General Partner at Lavni Ventures.

Lavni Ventures was started in 2020 by Vasu Guruswamy, Sanjay Kanvinde, and Krishna Shivram. It is a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund.

The Fund focuses on deep-tech impact investing, supporting early-stage startups in healthcare technology, education technology, clean technology, and agricultural technology.
