Leumas, a startup focused on advanced manufacturing technology, has raised $2.2 million in seed funding. The round was led by Capital 2B, a fund that supports deep tech companies and is backed by Info Edge and Temasek.
Capital-A and Anicut Capital also took part in the funding round.
The money will be used to grow Leumas’s research team, expand its on-demand manufacturing services, and set up trial factories for wellness and pharmaceutical brands.
“Pharma and wellness brands today need more than just capacity. They need agility, traceability, and the ability to scale without being restricted by outdated infrastructure,” said Subhajit Biswas and Nitesh K, Co-Founders of Leumas. “We are building a modern manufacturing stack that functions like software: modular, distributed, and intelligent. This funding will help us strengthen the technologies and capabilities that make on-demand manufacturing possible at scale.”
“We invested in Leumas because they are solving a global challenge: manufacturing that is slow, expensive, and hard to scale,” said Vibhore Sharma, Partner at Capital 2B. “Their integration of advanced robotics and intelligent software, along with a delivery model that is easy for brands to adopt, makes them truly differentiated. It is a fundamental reimagining of how factories should operate today.”
“Modular, software-driven, and built to scale – this is the kind of manufacturing innovation the world needs right now,” added Ankit Kedia, Founder and Lead Investor at Capital-A. “Leumas delivers it with a rare combination of deep technical expertise and operational clarity. Their approach stands out in industries like pharma and wellness, where speed, compliance, and adaptability are essential. It’s a bold, timely solution to a global challenge and exactly the kind of vision we’re proud to support.”
Leumas was started in 2016 by Subhajit Biswas and Nitesh K. The company offers on-demand manufacturing and factory services for wellness and pharmaceutical brands.
Leumas uses smart, robot-powered factories that can be easily adjusted and controlled by software. This helps with everything from creating new products to mass production. By combining automation, advanced software and research, Leumas helps brands grow faster, maintain quality and reduce risks.
Leumas says its main product is a high-tech manufacturing system that combines both physical machines and smart software. These systems are modular and run with the help of AI-powered robots.
They also use cameras to check quality and can work on their own. This setup helps increase production and ensures everything meets strict industry rules.
Leumas says that in the past year, it has worked closely with major wellness brands to create its manufacturing system and helped launch over 120 products in India, the US, and the MENA region.
The company has also teamed up with top pharma and food research groups to build special factory setups using its flexible, modular factory system.
