Malaysia’s Tapway Teams Up with Three Thai Firms to Grow Vision AI Footprint

Tapway Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian company that develops Vision AI software, announced on Monday that it has appointed Advantech Co., Ltd., Appomax Co., Ltd., and S I Media Co., Ltd. as its official channel partners in Thailand.

Tapway said in a statement that this announcement builds on the firm’s recent expansion in Indonesia, highlighting the growing regional demand for Vision AI technology.

With these new partners in Thailand, Tapway now has a channel network across Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, strengthening its position as a growing Vision AI company in Southeast Asia.

“Following our successful partnerships in Indonesia, we are now expanding into Thailand to meet the increasing need for intelligent automation,

“These partnerships mark another important step toward making Vision AI accessible, scalable, and locally relevant for businesses across Southeast Asia,” said Lim Chee How, Chief Executive Officer of Tapway.

Through these partnerships, the Thai companies will sell Tapway’s SamurAI Vision AI licenses, offer local technical support, and help implement and maintain the software for customers in important sectors like retail, manufacturing, logistics, and innovative city projects.

“We are committed to developing a strong partnership with Tapway to drive growth together through the development of applications for smart cities and smart factories,” said Matrix Choong, General Manager, Advantech Corporation (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

“Tapway’s powerful platform enables us to create Vision AI solutions for inspection, analytics, and advanced business intelligence (BI), enhancing our capability to deliver targeted, problem-solving services for our VIP customers,

“With Tapway’s technology and close support from their developer team, as stated in our memorandum of understanding (MOU), we are confident in our ability to grow together, address critical customer challenges, and build a smarter future,” he added.

Vikan Chirawatpongsa, Chief Executive Officer of Appomax, commented that the collaboration with Tapway delivers AI Vision that is truly accessible — quick to deploy, intuitive to operate, and flexible enough for customers to train additional models on their own.

“Combined with a reasonable price point, often far below comparable end-user platforms, it enables manufacturers to adopt advanced AI capabilities without high costs or complexity,” he added.

Sorathat Rattanawekhinrak, Managing Director, S I MEDIA Co., Ltd., stated AI has become more and more talked about in Thailand over the past years.

“Customers started asking how AI fits into any parts of their usual processes. Tapway brings a real experience to the table in significant ways,

“Helping various businesses to blend in technology with real-life use cases is creating enormous business opportunities for years to come,” he added.

Launched in 2024, Tapway’s SamurAI platform enables businesses to utilize AI-powered visual analytics with pre-built or customizable models, eliminating the need to write code.

The platform is already being used in over 2,000 locations across Southeast Asia, and Tapway plans to double this number in the next two years.

This step demonstrates Tapway’s channel-first approach, enabling regional partners to assist businesses in enhancing safety, compliance, and efficiency through real-time computer vision.

“We are targeting the installation of 500 camera licenses in Thailand within the next 12 months,” Chee How added.

This marks an aggressive push to bring Vision AI to more businesses across the country, according to the statement.
