Moonrider raises $6 million Series A round led by pi Ventures

Moonrider, a Bangalore-based electric tractor startup, has raised $6 million in a Series A round led by pi Ventures. The round also included Singularity AMC and existing investors AdvantEdge Founders and Micelio.

The company will use the money to improve vehicle engineering and battery technology, speed up tractor development, enhance drivetrain systems, boost battery performance, and test durability in different soils and climates in India and globally.

According to co-founder and CEO Anoop Srikantaswamy, Moonrider is the only electric tractor company in India producing 75HP tractors, while most farmers currently use tractors in the 35–50HP range.

Founded in 2023 by Anoop Srikantaswamy and Ravi Kulkarni, Moonrider is one of the few Indian startups working to make agriculture cleaner through electric tractors.

The company has already signed agreements to deliver 6,000 tractors to clients over the next three years.

Moonrider is currently conducting customer trials and preparing its 27HP, 50HP, and 75HP electric tractors for commercial launch. Deliveries to select customers are expected to begin by February next year.

Earlier in January, Moonrider raised $2.2 million (INR 19 crore) in a seed funding round, co-led by AdvantEdge Founders and Micelio Technology Fund, with participation from several angel investors.
