Navana.ai, a voice AI startup, has raised INR 7 crore (about $800,000) in a pre-Series A funding round. Antler India led the round.
Well-known angel investors, including Ajay Agarwal, Ronnie Screwvala, and Sandeep Singhal, also participated in the investment.
The startup plans to use the money to strengthen its research and development (R&D) and launch more products. It will focus on building language AI tools specifically designed for India.
With this new round, the startup has now raised a total of INR 13.2 crore. This includes an earlier INR 6.2 crore angel round led by Sandeep Singhal (Nexus Ventures) and supported by the Stanford Angel Fund, Rajan Mehra, and Saahil Goel.
“Whether it is for an urban English speaker or a person in a village speaking Bihari, our services allow enterprises to solve problems at a pan-India scale,” Nanavati said.
“Our goal is to help enterprises automate their contact centre solutions. We will be focusing on both R&D for India-based technologies and for scaling up our product into the market,” he said.
“India is a voice-first market, and enterprises here can’t rely on global, generic models to serve their customers. Navana’s proprietary data and Indic-language voice AI stack uniquely positions them to power this shift,” said Gowri Shankar, associate partner of Antler, India.
Navana.ai was started in 2018 by Raoul and Jai Nanavati. It provides a complete voice AI platform designed for Indian businesses. Its tools include a voice AI contact center, a speech recognition API, and a contact center intelligence API.
The company mainly works with banks and financial services. It offers real-time voice analytics and automation in over 12 Indian languages. Navana.ai serves more than 40 enterprise clients, including Bajaj Finserv, and supports users from both English-speaking cities and rural areas with local dialects.
