NoorNation Closes $1.05 Mn to Expand Solar-Powered Irrigation in Egypt
Oct 28, 2026 | By Nguyen Minh

Egypt-based climatetech startup NoorNation has Closes $1.05 million in seed funding to expand its clean energy and water solutions for agricultural businesses and off-grid communities. The round was backed by Linah Farms, climate tech investor Catalyst Fund and Saudi-based KBW Ventures.
Founded in 2021 by Ragy Ramadan and Mohamed Khaled, NoorNation develops decentralised energy and water infrastructure for farms and communities with limited access to conventional utilities. Its flagship product, LifeBox, uses solar power to provide electricity and water for irrigation, desalination and other applications.
Linah Farms Becomes an Investor
The investment marks a new stage in the relationship between NoorNation and Linah Farms, which previously used the startup's solar energy solutions across its agricultural and hospitality operations.
Their projects include solar-powered irrigation systems at Linah Farms' operations in Bahariya Oasis, a solar-and-battery installation at its agricultural school, and a solar power system at Sultan Gardens Resort in Sharm El Sheikh.
According to NoorNation founder Ragy Ramadan, the solar irrigation systems at Bahariya Oasis have saved Linah Farms more than EGP 3 million in diesel costs. The installation at Sultan Gardens Resort has also reduced electricity costs by more than EGP 2.2 million.
Expanding Solar Irrigation for Farmers
NoorNation is developing a pay-per-use solar irrigation model for Egyptian farmers who depend on diesel-powered water pumps. The model aims to make solar-powered irrigation more accessible while helping farmers reduce fuel expenses.
Linah Farms is also expected to support financing for the model, extending its partnership with NoorNation beyond existing renewable energy projects.
The company focuses on providing clean energy and water infrastructure to agricultural businesses, rural communities and other off-grid users in Egypt and Sub-Saharan Africa.
