NTT DATA, a technology and digital services company from Japan, announced on Thursday that it is partnering with Google Cloud. The goal is to speed up AI-based cloud solutions and create new opportunities for businesses in different industries using AI.
NTT DATA said in a statement that this collaboration combines the firm’s deep industry expertise in AI, cloud-native modernization, and data engineering with Google Cloud’s advanced analytics, AI, and cloud technologies to deliver tailored, scalable enterprise solutions.
The partnership will focus on working together to create cloud and AI solutions for specific industries. It will combine NTT DATA’s experience and proven methods with Google Cloud’s technology to provide tailored solutions with strong implementation support.
The companies will also invest in joint marketing and sales efforts to make it easier for businesses to start using these solutions.
According to NTT DATA, citing Gartner®, global spending on public cloud services is expected to grow from $595.7 billion in 2024 to $723 billion in 2025.
The use of AI deployments in IT and business operations is accelerating the reliance on modern cloud infrastructure, highlighting the critical importance of this strategic global partnership.

Meanwhile, Kevin Ichhpurani, President, Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud, said the partnership with NTT DATA will help enterprises use agentic AI to enhance business processes and solve complex industry challenges.
“By combining Google Cloud’s AI with NTT DATA’s implementation expertise, we will enable customers to deploy intelligent agents that modernize operations and deliver significant value for their organizations,” he added.
According to the statement, NTT DATA will leverage Google Cloud technology to develop several industry-specific AI and cloud solutions accelerating enterprise transformation across sectors including banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, life sciences and the public sector.
The partnership will focus on several key areas, including:
AI solutions tailored for specific industries
AI-driven upgrades to cloud systems
Modernizing applications and security
Creating secure “sovereign” cloud services
Building a Google distributed cloud testing environment
NTT DATA will support these innovations with end-to-end services — from advising and designing to building, implementing, hosting, and managing solutions.
By combining NTT DATA’s proven methods and experience with Google Cloud’s technology, the two companies plan to quickly create repeatable and scalable solutions that help large businesses transform.
A big part of this plan is Takumi, NTT DATA’s GenAI framework, which helps clients move from the idea stage to fully deploying AI across their organizations.
This effort will also expand NTT DATA’s Smart AI Agent Ecosystem, which brings together key technology partners, special tools, and trained AI experts to help companies use AI in a responsible and business-focused way at scale.
To make this happen, NTT DATA has set up a global Google Cloud Business Group with thousands of engineers, architects, and consultants who will work closely with Google Cloud teams.
The company is also investing heavily in training, aiming to certify 5,000 engineers in Google Cloud technology. This ensures its teams can sell, secure, move, and set up AI-powered cloud solutions effectively.
Both companies are co-investing in global marketing and sales campaigns to encourage adoption of these solutions in priority industries. By combining their technical, sales and marketing expertise, they aim to spread these innovations worldwide more efficiently.
This global partnership builds on the 2024 co-innovation agreement between NTT DATA and Google Cloud in Asia-Pacific, and it also strengthens NTT DATA’s position following its acquisition of Niveus Solutions, a Google Cloud specialist.
