OSW Secures $5.5M Funding from Shanghai’s SparkEdge Capital

Australian solar wholesaler and distributor OSW (One Stop Warehouse) has secured $5.5 million USD in funding from SparkEdge Capital, a Shanghai-based venture capital firm specializing in energy and technology investments.

The funding will support OSW’s expansion into key solar markets such as the US, Mexico, Spain, and Romania. It will also help speed up the growth of GreenSketch, OSW’s platform that digitalises and connects every step of the clean energy value chain.

“OSW is building an AI-driven distributed energy industry internet platform—our vision is to become the ‘Amazon’ of clean energy, delivering integrated solutions,” OSW’s Founder Anson Zhang stated in a statement.

OSW was founded in 2013 and has been the leading company in Australia’s solar market for seven years in a row.

Outside Australia, it has built a strong presence in Europe, especially in the Netherlands and Poland, where it holds more than 20% of the market.

The GreenSketch platform allows users to manage everything in one place — from designing solar systems and buying equipment to applying for subsidies and handling project management.

SparkEdge Capital’s Partner Bin Wang said that they are drawn to OSW’s unique ability to combine smart software with deep sector expertise and praised GreenSketch as a breakthrough, setting a new standard for clean energy delivery. “We believe OSW is positioned to lead the next wave of global solar adoption,” he said.

With support from SparkEdge Capital, OSW plans to add AI-powered tools and automation to every step of the solar process — including system design, compliance, credit scoring, and carbon tracking.

The company will also form strategic partnerships in different regions to support local operations and expand its clean energy infrastructure across the world.
