PadelPark and MS Dhoni’s 7Padel Join Hands to Accelerate Padel Growth in India

Indian padel startup PadelPark has merged with 7Padel, a padel company owned by former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni.

Through this merger, Dhoni’s customer-focused padel brand will come together with PadelPark’s full ecosystem, which includes building padel courts, coaching programs, tournaments and community activities.

The new combined company plans to build more courts faster, encourage more people to play padel, and create a more organized and professional padel system across India.

The startup also shared that the platform will focus on quick expansion, better community engagement, and well-structured competitive play.

Along with cricket star MS Dhoni, the merged company is also supported by Parth Jindal, the owner of JSW Sports and an early investor in PadelPark.

Most of the startup’s income comes from renting out the 40+ padel courts it operates. The company became EBITDA positive in FY24, meaning it started making operating profits.

PadelPark, based in Mumbai, was founded in 2020 by Nikhil Sachdev, Ronak Daftary, and brothers Jigar and Pratik Joshi. The company entered the market at the right time, just as sports like padel and pickleball were becoming popular in India, helping it grow quickly in the fast-expanding racket sports space.

Padel has become much more popular over the years, and PadelPark has grown along with it. Since opening its first court in 2020, the startup has expanded its presence across India.

Today, PadelPark provides coaching programs for players of all levels and also organizes tournaments and events that attract good interest from brands and advertisers.

“In a country with over 10 million racquet sport players, Tier-1 cities have already shown how quickly padel can grow. The next step is taking that momentum into newer markets and making the sport accessible beyond the metros,” Dhoni said. “Once courts are available, people will take to it naturally – padel is social, it’s played in doubles, and it’s built around community which suits India. And with PadelPark India’s 360° ecosystem – from courts and coaching to tournaments and community programmes, we can scale with consistency and build padel as a professionally run sport across the country.”

Nikhil Sachdev, cofounder of PadelPark India, said that the merger shows both companies share the same long-term goal of growing padel in India.

He said that bringing MS Dhoni’s 7Padel together with PadelPark India will create one strong platform to improve playing standards, encourage more people to join the sport, and build long-term trust and recognition for padel. He also added that Dhoni’s leadership and values make their mission even stronger.

Through its subsidiary Sky Padel India, the company has also started building, leasing, and selling padel courts. So far, it has built around 200 courts and now plans to increase this to 400–500 courts using a franchise model.
