The renewal of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) marks a significant improvement in the cooperation between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), two of the top international organisations in Asia and the Pacific for development policy and financing.
This revitalised cooperation intends to speed the region’s transition to sustainable development by 2030 throughout Asia and the Pacific, during this crucial decade for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The partnership will concentrate on areas where the SDGs may be advanced more quickly by coordinating community demands with local and national policies, services, and investment decisions.
Joint knowledge production, policy discussions, technical support, and project development will all be included in the actions, which will include topics like creative financing, climate action, sustainable urbanisation, rural development, and digital technologies for development.
