PHINMA Education, one of the biggest private higher education networks in Southeast Asia, has acquired St. Jude College (SJC) Dasmariñas Cavite for a PHP 432 million ($7.43 million).

According to PHINMA Education, completing the deal, which goes into effect on Friday, will increase its school ownership to 94.62%. This also marks the company’s entry into the Cavite market, with 3,000 students joining its network, the largest in Southeast Asia’s private higher education sector in enrollment.

According to the statement, this is PHINMA Education’s first school acquisition since the company was acquired by leading private equity firm KKR. The company also plans to expand throughout Southeast Asia, beginning with Horizon Education in Indonesia.

PHINMA Education is also expanding to provide education to countries across Southeast Asia.
