
Tarun Mathur has stepped down from his role as CEO and principal officer of Policybazaar, which is owned by PB Fintech.
The company said his resignation is effective from April 7 and is due to personal reasons.
After his exit, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India approved Sajja Praveen Chowdary as the new CEO, principal officer, and whole-time director.
Chowdary has been working with PB Fintech since 2011. He currently leads Policybazaar for Business and has experience in business management, product, and technology.
Chowdary played an important role in growing Policybazaar’s retail insurance segments like motor and term life insurance. He also introduced new solutions to make buying insurance easier for customers.
He has more than 17 years of experience in areas like business management, product, technology, and project management in the e-commerce industry.
Chowdary has a postgraduate degree in marketing from IMT Ghaziabad and a BTech in electronics and communication.
Mathur has been with Policybazaar for over 18 years and held many leadership roles, including co-founder and chief business officer. He also led areas like analytics, revenue management, life insurance, and strategic projects.
