Dubai Industrial City, part of TECOM Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Pure Ice Cream factory, which will cost AED 80 million to build. Mohammed Shael Al Saadi, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Consumer Protection and Fair Trade, attended the event, along with other leaders from the industrial and food industries.
The new factory will cover 160,000 square feet, making it one of the UAE’s biggest ice cream production plants when it opens in 2026. It will help Pure Ice Cream increase yearly production to 50 million liters.
“Dubai Industrial City’s ecosystem is geared to strengthen the supply chain of ‘Made in UAE’ products for long-term economic prosperity,” said Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group PJSC, on behalf of Dubai Industrial City. “Pure Ice Cream’s facility reflects the country’s strength as an international food production hub, and we champion manufacturers to contribute towards Operation 300bn, Make it in the Emirates, Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’, and National Food Security Strategy 2051.”
Pure Ice Cream, part of the Graviss Group, signed a Musalaha agreement with Dubai Industrial City in October 2024 during the SIAL Paris international food and drink event.
The new factory will use eco-friendly, biodegradable packaging for its three-gallon ice cream products. It will also use solar power as part of its efforts to be more environmentally friendly.
The project aims to become carbon-neutral and will create 60 new jobs once the factory is completed.
“He is excited to build the biggest ice cream factory in the GCC and to export our products to more than 20 countries from Dubai,” said Gaurav Ghai, Chairman of Graviss Group.
