Qwacks, a Saudi gaming technology startup creating advanced tools for game developers, has raised $480,000 (SAR 1.8 million) in pre-seed funding. The round was led by Merak Capital, a Saudi investment firm licensed by the Capital Market Authority.

This investment marks an important milestone for Qwacks, positioning it as one of the first companies in Saudi Arabia dedicated to building core technologies that power game development and live operations.

As Saudi Arabia’s game development ecosystem grows, the need for stronger infrastructure and developer-focused tools is rising quickly. Local studios are looking for solutions that make it easier to build, test, and scale their games.

This shift from being primarily consumers to becoming active creators has created a strong demand for homegrown technology that can fully support and accelerate game production in the Kingdom.

Founded in 2024, Qwacks is building a unified technology layer that simplifies every stage of game development. Its platform brings together tools that help developers manage, test, and refine their games more efficiently.

The suite includes three key products: Flock, a scalable Backend-as-a-Service for online and multiplayer games; Protokite, an AI-powered playtesting system that connects developers with real players; and DataDuck, a market intelligence tool that gathers data from multiple platforms to help studios validate ideas and spot market opportunities.

The new funding will help Qwacks grow its technology platform faster. The company plans to improve its tools, build stronger integrations, and support more game studios in Saudi Arabia and across the region.

The investment will also help Qwacks strengthen its operations, especially as more developers look for locally built gaming technology to meet their growing needs.

Abdulelah Alsharif, Vice President at Merak Capital, added: “At Merak, we continue to invest in the people and platforms shaping the future of Saudi Arabia’s gaming sector. Qwacks is addressing a clear gap in the ecosystem and doing so with a vision that aligns with the Kingdom’s broader ambitions. We see their work as a meaningful step toward building the technical foundations that will enable local studios to thrive.”

Anas Alsahli, CEO and Co-founder at Qwacks, commented, “Merak’s investment marks a major milestone for Qwacks. It allows us to accelerate the development of our unified platform and bring advanced backend, playtesting, and market intelligence tools to more studios across the region. Our mission is to give developers technology that removes friction, shortens production cycles, and helps them build better games, and this partnership moves us significantly closer to that goal.”
