ReFresh has raised $2.5M in Seed funding led by Black Nova Venture Capital, with follow on investment from Antler and Archangel Ventures, to help employers identify, manage, and document psychosocial risks at work.
What is ReFresh?
ReFresh is a workplace psychosocial safety platform that helps organisations identify hazards, assess risks, and manage workplace safety requirements through one system.
The platform brings together risk management, workplace controls, and compliance records. It is designed to help employers maintain evidence that can be used during regulatory inspections.
The company serves organisations across financial services, government, and ASX-listed technology companies.
How Much Funding Has ReFresh Raised?
ReFresh has raised $2.5M in its latest Seed round, taking its total funding to more than $4M.
The company had previously raised a pre-Seed round in December 2025. The amount and investor details for that round were not disclosed in the provided sources.
Who Invested in ReFresh's Seed Round?
Black Nova Venture Capital led ReFresh's latest funding round.
Existing investors Antler and Archangel Ventures also participated through follow-on investments.
Black Nova managing partner Matt Browne is also an advisor to ReFresh. The firm has experience in workplace safety software through Browne's previous involvement with Donesafe.
Why the Funding Matters
ReFresh plans to use the funding to improve its compliance capabilities and keep track of regulatory changes across Australia's nine work health and safety jurisdictions.
The platform maps workplace controls to relevant requirements and updates them as regulations change. This is aimed at helping employers understand their responsibilities and maintain the required evidence.
The funding comes as Australia's free People at Work survey is being shut down. The survey had been used by around 5,000 organisations and 160,000 workers to assess psychosocial risks since 2020.
Who founded ReFresh?
Harrison Kennedy and Taylor Laing founded ReFresh in 2025.
Kennedy serves as CEO, while Laing has an engineering background and is based in the US. The founders initially built the company from opposite sides of the Pacific after being introduced through a mutual contact.
ReFresh had employees, customers, and a pre-Seed round before the founders met in person.
Market and Business Growth
ReFresh has onboarded customers across financial services, government, and ASX-listed technology companies.
The company has also grown its product around the changing requirements for psychosocial safety in Australian workplaces. Its system is designed to connect workplace risks, management controls, and compliance records rather than relying on separate surveys, documents, and incident records.
What Happens Next?
ReFresh will focus on strengthening its compliance and risk management platform, including tracking regulatory changes across Australia's different work health and safety jurisdictions.
The company will continue developing its system to help employers identify psychosocial hazards, manage the risks, and maintain inspection ready evidence.
Leadership Statements
"Most employers have a survey running somewhere, a policy document somewhere else, an incident spreadsheet a manager keeps privately, and no way to show a regulator that any of it connects," chief executive officer Harrison Kennedy said.
The mission is personal for Kennedy. A competitive swimmer and international model as a teenager, he developed anxiety and at 19 built a mental health media platform, Really Mental, backed by Amazon. "Really Mental taught me that awareness is not the same thing as change," he said. "The design of the work is what does the damage."
