Educational publisher Sasbadi Holdings Bhd has teamed up with digital solutions company Agmo Holdings Bhd to create Malaysia’s first large language model (LLM) designed specifically for education.
The partnership will be set up as a joint venture called Penerbitan Minda Sdn Bhd. Sasbadi’s subsidiary, Sasbadi Online Sdn Bhd, will own 55% of it, while Agmo’s unit, Agmo Capital Sdn Bhd, will hold 45%.
Sasbadi said the project supports Malaysia’s national plans for AI, digital development, and digital education. It also aims to promote local control of data and create an AI-driven education system.
Under the partnership, Sasbadi will provide its digital learning materials, content, and curriculum knowledge to train the model. The model will give personalised, bilingual learning experiences based on the national syllabus.
Agmo will handle the technical side, including building the model, combining datasets, and improving performance using AI techniques like Natural Language Processing (NLP), Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), and multimodal AI.

“This partnership represents a bold step in Sasbadi’s digital transformation journey,” said Sasbadi group MD Law King Hui.
“By combining our deep expertise in education with Agmo’s cutting-edge AI capabilities, we are creating a localised LLM that will redefine how Malaysians learn, teach and interact with knowledge,” he added.
“The synergy between Sasbadi’s educational strength and Agmo’s technical excellence will drive innovation and create significant value for the education ecosystem and our shareholders,” said Agmo CEO Tan Aik Keong said. — TMR
