Bengaluru-based AI infrastructure startup Simplismart has Secures $14 million in a Series B funding round led by Dallas Venture Capital, with participation from Nvidia, Accel, Shastra VC and Micromax. The round values the four-year-old company at approximately $100 million.
The company will use its technology to help businesses improve AI model performance, reduce computing costs and make better use of their existing GPU infrastructure.
Simplismart Develops Software to Optimise AI Models
Simplismart provides software that helps businesses deploy and run artificial intelligence models more efficiently. Its platform works between AI models and the computing infrastructure they use, optimising performance according to the requirements of different applications.
The technology focuses on improving response speed, processing capacity and GPU utilisation. This can help businesses manage the growing costs of running AI applications at scale.
AI Companies Use Simplismart's Technology
Simplismart serves customers across the AI industry, including video generation companies HeyGen, Higgsfield and InVideo, as well as enterprise AI startup Ema.
According to Simplismart, InVideo reduced its GPU serving costs by 56% using the company's technology. Indian cloud infrastructure provider Yotta also uses its platform for serverless AI inference.
Although Simplismart has more customers in India, the United States accounts for more than half of its revenue.
Revenue Grows as Demand for AI Inference Increases
Simplismart co-founder and CEO Amritanshu Jain said the company's annualised revenue run rate increased 14-fold over the previous six months, reaching an eight-figure figure. This reflects recent customer usage and is not necessarily equivalent to contracted recurring revenue.
The company operates in the AI inference market, where businesses run trained AI models to generate responses, produce content and perform other tasks. As organisations expand their use of AI, managing the cost and performance of inference has become an important challenge.
Jain said businesses do not always need the fastest or cheapest inference option. Instead, they require a balance of speed and cost that suits their specific applications.
