Quantified Energy (QE), a deep-tech company from Singapore, announced on Tuesday that it has raised Series A funding, with the investment led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India.
With this new funding, QE plans to speed up its global business growth and focus more on developing new products to meet the growing demand in the solar industry, according to the company.
“With this new round of funding, we will be rolling out our second-generation drone electroluminescence (EL) inspection solution globally,” the firm’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Yan Wang, said.
“Any partner using a DJI M300/M350 drone can easily attach QE’s EL payload and join our ‘pay-per-use’ model—giving them instant access to perform high-throughput EL inspections for their clients.”
“Through this approach, we contribute to safeguarding the exponential growth of the solar photovoltaics (PV) industry,” he added.
He also mentioned that QE’s founders are solar researchers from Asia and Europe who joined forces in Singapore to ensure every solar panel performs well throughout its lifespan.
The statement says that the global solar market is growing quickly, with BloombergNEF predicting that up to 4.5 terawatts (TW) of new solar capacity will be installed by 2030.
By providing accurate, non-damaging tests for solar power systems faster, QE helps solar owners and investors reduce the risk of early damage and improve safety.
This helps improve the performance of solar systems over their entire lifespan, resulting in more energy produced and a better return on investment.
Founded in 2021 as a spin-off from the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) at the National University of Singapore, QE is a company focused on improving solar power performance using artificial intelligence (AI) for inspections and analysis.
Using drone technology and its software, QE provides valuable information to improve solar installations’ efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
The company created an autonomous drone system for mapping solar panels and offers inspection services for large-scale and commercial solar systems.
Last year, QE completed the world’s biggest EL inspection, checking over one million solar panels at a single location in just three weeks.
Recently, QE signed an agreement with TÜV Rheinland at Intersolar Europe 2025 in Munich, Germany, to promote drone-based EL mapping in critical European markets like Spain and Portugal.
“Solar power is a cornerstone of the global renewable energy transition. QE’s unique capabilities are well-positioned to transform how solar assets are managed and financed,
“We are excited to work with Quantified Energy to bring their innovations to the global solar market,” said Puiyan Leung, Partner of Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India.
