Singapore-Based Singtel Strategic Collaboration with GMI Cloud

The strategic Collaboration between Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) and GMI Cloud, an artificial intelligence (AI) native GPU cloud platform based in the United States, aims to increase GPU capacity by combining the GPU resources and infrastructure of both businesses, thereby democratizing the availability of powerful computing for businesses.

Singtel stated in a statement that this partnership allows both firms’ clients to access GPUs for their workloads over a greater footprint and expands their reach into previously unexplored regions.

With the goal of giving customers more regional freedom and reliable infrastructure support wherever they need it, Singtel has partnered with GPU cloud platforms Vultr in the US and Nscale in Europe. This collaboration comes after those two partnerships.

Additionally, Singtel recently formed a strategic agreement with Bridge agreement, a global leader in mobile alliance with 35 member operators, to expand its GPUaaS capabilities to businesses in Southeast Asia.

“We’ve been developing next-generation digital infrastructure and partnerships to support the growing demand for scalable, efficient and cost-effective solutions across industries for compute-intensive workloads, Collaborating with GMI Cloud expands capacity and availability zones in Asia Pacific, complementing our own GPUaaS points of presence. This will give enterprises the flexibility and scalability they need as they harness supercomputing power to accelerate innovation,” said Bill Chang, Chief Executive Officer of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo and Nxera.

It is mentioned that in order to take advantage of Singtel’s NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPU capacity in Singapore, GMI Cloud’s state-of-the-art GPU platform—which is renowned for its high-performance and affordable solutions—will be connected with the company’s Paragon orchestration platform.

Alex Yeh, Chief Executive Officer of GMI Cloud, commented that the firm’s collaboration with Singtel marks a significant milestone in democratizing AI infrastructure across Asia Pacific. Our flexible deployment models and experience with high-volume, low-latency workloads position us uniquely to support the telecommunications industry’s AI initiatives, Together, we’re creating an ecosystem that will accelerate AI adoption, enabling telecom providers and enterprises to enhance their services and drive innovation in the region,” he added.

He claims that Singtel’s strong network is ideally complemented by GMI Cloud’s experience in offering scalable, telecom-optimized GPU solutions.
