SK Hynix Teams Up with Naver Cloud to Boost AI Products

SK Hynix and Naver Cloud have partnered to enhance each other’s AI solutions. They will use SK hynix’s chips and Naver Cloud’s infrastructure to run AI optimization processes.

The collaboration was formalized when SK hynix’s Chief Development Officer Ahn Hyun and Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won signed a memorandum of understanding during a ceremony on Tuesday.

As part of the partnership, SK hynix will test and improve its next-generation AI memory and storage products using Naver Cloud’s real AI service environments.

SK hynix will test its AI-focused products using Compute Express Link (CXL) and Processing-In-Memory (PIM) technologies in real time. These tests will be done under different workload conditions at Naver Cloud’s large-scale data centers.

Naver Cloud will use SK hynix’s latest hardware to improve its data center software. This will help the company use GPUs more efficiently, speed up AI service responses, and reduce costs.

As AI data usage grows rapidly, service providers face higher costs and performance challenges. This partnership aims to optimize both memory performance and the balance between hardware and software to handle AI workloads more effectively.

“The competitiveness of AI services is determined by the optimization across the entire data center infrastructure,” Kim said. “By partnering with a leading global AI memory semiconductor firm, we will strengthen competitiveness from infrastructure to services and deliver more innovative AI experiences to customers.”

“SK hynix will thoroughly validate its products in commercial environments and provide top-tier memory solutions required by the global AI ecosystem,” Ahn said. “Starting with this partnership, we will also actively expand technological collaborations with global cloud service providers.”
