StayVista, a startup that offers luxury villa and homestay rentals, has raised INR 40 crore (about $5 million) in a Series B funding round led by JSW Ventures.
Existing investors DSG Consumer Partners and Capri Global Family Office also took part in the round.
The startup plans to use the new funding to enter new markets, grow its team, and add more high-end vacation homes to its platform.
StayVista was founded in 2015 by Ankita Sheth, Amit Damani, and Pranav Maheshwari. The company is based in Mumbai.
At first, it offered budget stays through its online platform. Later, it shifted its focus to luxury villas and homestays, targeting travelers looking for high-end rental experiences.
StayVista runs its business in two ways — for regular customers (B2C) and property owners (B2B).
For customers, it offers luxury villas and homestays for rent through its website. For property owners, it provides maintenance and management services, charging service fees along with listing fees.
StayVista has teamed up with big travel websites like MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, and Airbnb to reach more customers.
The company says it is now available in over 85 destinations, has more than 1,000 properties, and has hosted over 1 million guests so far.
