STB and Ant International Strengthen Partnership to Boost Tourism Growth

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Ant International have renewed their long-term partnership to boost tourism and support Singapore’s economy.

Their goal is to strengthen Singapore’s reputation as a top global travel destination and provide smooth digital payment experiences for international visitors through Alipay+, Ant International’s unified digital wallet platform.

After a strong year for tourism, the partnership between the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Alipay+ helped generate record spending across Singapore in 2025. Visitors used Alipay+ to pay at major attractions, retail stores, services, and even neighbourhood hawker stalls.

According to Alipay+ data, Singapore ranked among the top five most popular travel destinations globally, with transactions rising 36% compared to the previous year. As more travellers looked for local experiences, spending through SGQR nearly tripled, giving a real boost to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
