Supabase Secures $ 150 Mn to Expand AI Infrastructure and Acquires Turso

A company based in San Francisco called Supabase has Secures $150 million in new money led by GIC with help from CapitalG, IronArc and SquarePeg. The company will use the money to speed up its work on database systems that are run by agents as more people want AI tools for coding and agents. Along with the money Supabase has said it is buying a company called Turso.

Supabase Raises $150 Mn in New Money

Supabase has gotten $150 million in money in a round led by GIC. CapitalG, IronArc and SquarePeg also joined in the round.

This latest money came four months after Supabase got 500 million dollars in its Series F round giving the company more money to grow its systems and make new products.

How Will Supabase Use the Money?

Supabase plans to use the money to speed up the work on products and systems that are made for AI agents and databases that are run by agents.

The company is seeing demand as AI tools for coding let more people and agents make apps. Supabase also said the money will help employees get money.

Paul Copplestone, who is one of the people who started Supabase and is the CEO said the company had its fastest growth in the last year as AI coding tools and agents made more people want its platform.

Supabase Buys Turso to Help with AI Agent Work

Supabase has also said it is buying Turso, a database system made to give developers databases for work done by agents.

As more people use agents developers may need to make databases for each agent and app. Tursos way of working lets databases be made when needed for those situations across cloud and bring-your-own-cloud environments.

The purchase will help Supabase make its systems better for apps that use AI agents.

Turso will keep running with a plan to connect with the Supabase family of tools.

Turso Founders Join Supabase

After the purchase Glauber Costa the person who started Turso will join Supabase as Head of Agentic Services.

Pekka Enberg, another person who started Turso and the rest of the Turso team will also join Supabase.

Costa said Turso was made with the goal of helping than one billion databases and that joining Supabase could help reach that goal.

Supabases Growing Group of Developers

Supabase is now getting than 1 million users and 4 million databases each month the company said.

Around 70 percent of databases made on its system are now made by agents or tools that use AI. Supabase also said there was a 600 percent increase in databases in June compared to the time last year.

The company is making its system into the base for people and agents who are making and growing apps.
