Swiggy is trying out a new app called Crew, which helps with travel and lifestyle services. You can already see it on the Google Play Store.
This is Swiggy’s latest step into something new beyond just food delivery, dining, and quick shopping.
Crew is a travel and lifestyle helper app that uses both real people and AI to assist users with planning their trips—not just giving suggestions but actually helping them organize everything.
Last year, before going public, Swiggy tested a special premium service called Rare Life. It offered unique and exclusive experiences.
However, the project was later shut down because Swiggy decided not to roll it out to more people beyond a small group of users.
In January, Swiggy launched a new app called Pyng. It’s a marketplace where people can find professional services.
This shows that Swiggy is now following a “house of apps” strategy—like big Chinese companies Alibaba and Meituan—by building different apps for different kinds of services.
This is different from a “super app,” where many services are all available in one app. In India, super apps haven’t worked very well or become very popular so far.
Swiggy now has several apps. Besides Crew and Pyng, it still runs its main app, which offers food delivery, quick shopping, dining out, and an events platform called Scenes.
In January, Swiggy also launched a separate app just for Instamart, its fast delivery service for everyday items.
Swiggy recently stopped its parcel delivery service, Genie, which was available in 70 cities. It has also given the rights to run its cloud kitchen brands to a food company called Kouzina and plans to hand over these businesses once some conditions are met completely.
