TNG Digital and Setel Partner to Offer Digital Payments at Petronas Stations

Malaysia’s digital payment company TNG Digital (TNGD) has teamed up with Setel Ventures to make it easier for people to pay for fuel using the TNG eWallet.

Now, drivers can fuel up and pay directly at the pump at over 1,000 Petronas stations across the country—without leaving their car or downloading another app.

This new feature uses Setel’s special pump-and-pay technology and is available through the “Petronas via Setel” mini program inside the TNG eWallet.

The partnership was made official through a recent agreement between both companies.

“This partnership with Setel supports our goal of integrating practical, everyday services into the lives of our users,

“Fuel payments are routine for many individuals, and this collaboration makes the process faster and more accessible while creating new touchpoints within Petronas’ nationwide network,” TNG Digital Chief Executive Officer Alan Ni said.

“We actively encourage partnerships that not only enhance convenience for users but also allow our partners to reach a wider, digitally engaged audience,” he added.

The statement said that this partnership shows Setel and TNG Digital’s shared goal of making everyday travel easier and more rewarding.

They want to combine fuel payments, digital wallets, and rewards into one smooth experience for drivers in Malaysia.

“This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to scale Setel’s platform through ecosystem integration that delivers meaningful impact. Refuelling is a high-frequency transaction,

“Embedding Setel within TNG eWallet allows us to meet users where they are and reinforce our vision to deliver seamless and frictionless mobility and retail experiences through digital innovation,” said Setel Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin.

TNG Digital, the company behind TNG eWallet, was founded in 2017 and is now Malaysia’s biggest fintech company, with over 23 million verified users.

It helps people make payments at more than 2 million merchants in Malaysia, supports payments in over 50 countries, and offers international payments through a partnership with Visa.

TNG Digital also offers other financial services like investments, loans, money transfers, and insurance.

Setel, launched in July 2018, is a mobile app that aims to make travel and daily movement easier and more convenient for people across Malaysia.

With Setel, users can easily pay for fuel, parking, electric vehicle (EV) charging, motor insurance, and road tax renewal—all in one app.
