Torq raises $140 million Series D round led by Merlin Ventures

Cybersecurity company Torq has raised $140 million in Series D funding. This new funding values the company at $1.2 billion. Torq builds an AI-based platform that helps security teams manage and automate their security operations centers. With this latest round, Torq has now raised a total of $332 million in funding.

The funding round was led by Merlin Ventures. Merlin Ventures is a special investment fund that focuses on cybersecurity companies, mainly working with the U.S. federal government market.

Many existing investors also joined the round. These include Insight Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greenfield Partners, Evolution Equity Partners, Notable Capital, and J.P. Morgan Private Bank.

Torq was started in 2020 by Ofer Smadari (CEO), Leonid Belkind (CTO), and Eldad Livni (CINO). All three founders have strong backgrounds in cybersecurity and enterprise technology and have worked in the tech industry for many years.

The founders have deep experience in managing large and complex systems, creating advanced cybersecurity solutions, and building technology companies that operate globally. Their knowledge helps Torq develop powerful and reliable security products.

Since it started, Torq has grown very quickly. Today, it has more than 350 employees working around the world. The company has offices in New York (U.S. headquarters), Tel Aviv (main development center), Japan, Germany, Amsterdam, and London.

After receiving the new funding, Torq plans to hire 200 more employees in 2026. These new hires will support the company’s growth and help expand its global operations.

In 2025, Torq recorded about 300% growth in its revenue. This strong growth happened because many large companies started using Torq’s platform to automatically handle millions of security-related tasks.

Torq now protects hundreds of organizations around the world. Some well-known companies using its services include Marriott, PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, Siemens, Uber, and Virgin Atlantic. Demand for automated cybersecurity tools is growing fast in the AI era.

Torq will use the new funding to expand its business around the world. A major focus will be entering the U.S. government and public-sector markets, which have strict rules and security requirements.

Torq’s partnership with Merlin Ventures will help in this expansion. Merlin has strong experience in working with U.S. government cybersecurity projects. This will help Torq adjust its AI platform to protect important U.S. infrastructure and meet government security standards.

“This funding accelerates our mission to define and dominate the AI SOC (Security Operations Center) market. We are moving far beyond the constraints of legacy SOAR and SIEM, harnessing the Agentic AI Era to deliver outcomes our customers rely on,” said Ofer Smadari, CEO and co-founder. “Global enterprise adoption of our AI SOC Platform has validated our vision for the future of security operations. We have achieved tremendous revenue growth, with Fortune 100 customers adopting our AI Agents in their SOCs for everything from investigation to response. Our partnership with Merlin Ventures is the definitive signal that Torq is now ready to scale this massive customer success into the high-stakes Federal and Public Sector markets.”

Shay Michel, managing partner at Merlin Ventures, said the firm’s decision to lead the round reflected Torq’s maturity. “Torq is redefining security operations,” said Michel. “They’ve fused automation and human judgment into a new AI SOC Platform built for asymmetric threats and real-world scale. This is why Merlin is leading the investment. Our focus now is speed, accelerating go-to-market, expanding across commercial and government markets, and building the next global category leader in AI security operations.”
