Ultrahuman, the Bengaluru-based maker of smart rings, has raised INR 100 Cr (USD 11.2 Mn) in venture debt from Alteria Capital to fuel its next phase of growth.
With the peak growth season approaching, the fresh funding will help the company speed up product innovation, expand into new global markets, strengthen partnerships in sports and research, and build new features and software-driven revenue streams.
“We’ve built Ultrahuman on the principles of cost-disciplined growth and capital efficiency,” said Mohit Kumar, CEO of Ultrahuman. “This partnership with Alteria allows us to accelerate expansion during this key growth season while staying true to our core principles of remaining nimble and lean.”
“With growing affluence, there is a sharper focus on measurement and optimisation of health, and this is a massive global market. Mohit and his team have shown that passion, attention to detail and refined engineering can lead to successful outcomes even in difficult markets across the developed world,” said Vinod Murali, managing partner and co-founder of Alteria. “They are working on a thesis of enabling a pre-emptive approach to managing health and lifestyle, and we are excited to back Ultrahuman as it builds on this ambitious opportunity.”
Ultrahuman’s FY25 revenue was largely powered by its US operations, which contributed almost 60% of its total operating revenue of INR 564.7 Cr. With strong sales in the US, the company became profitable, reporting a net profit of INR 71.5 Cr, a major improvement from the INR 37.7 Cr loss it posted the previous year.
But this momentum is now under threat. In October, the US International Trade Commission enforced cease-and-desist orders, preventing Ultrahuman from importing or selling its current Ring AIR model in the US, putting its key market growth at risk.
Despite this challenge, Ultrahuman says it is already working on a redesigned version of its smart ring for the US market. However, the company won’t hurry the process. It plans to wait for clear regulatory guidance and secure the necessary FCC approvals to ensure there are no future legal issues.
Ultrahuman is creating one of the most complete ecosystems for wearable and at-home health tracking. Its main device, the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, is designed to be comfortable while giving users science-backed insights to improve their sleep, recovery, and daily movement.
Along with other products like the M1 CGM, Blood Vision, Ultrahuman Home, and Cycle & Ovulation Pro, the company aims to help people take early action, monitor their health better, and live healthier, more informed lives.
