Vahan.ai Raises Funding from Temasek’s LemmaTree, Acquires Skilling Platform L.earn

Vahan.ai, a platform focused on blue-collar recruitment, has received a strategic investment from LemmaTree, an investment firm established by Temasek.

As part of the deal, Vahan.ai has also acquired L.earn, the digital learning and upskilling platform previously operated by GoodWorker, another LemmaTree-backed initiative.

The investment will primarily be used to enhance Vahan.ai’s proprietary technology, with a strong focus on developing advanced AI capabilities for large-scale, multilingual hiring.

Vahan.ai did not disclose the amount raised or clarify whether the investment is part of a larger Series B round. According to Founder and CEO Madhav Krishna, the funding will be used to enhance the platform’s AI and multilingual capabilities, to increase monthly job placements from 40,000 to over 100,000.

The acquisition of L.earn adds a key skilling element to Vahan’s platform. L.earn provides mobile-first, vernacular training content tailored for gig and frontline workers across sectors like logistics, manufacturing, and retail.

By integrating these modular skilling programs into the job search journey, Vahan aims to improve worker employability enable access to higher-paying roles, and support long-term career growth.

Madhav Krishna, CEO and Founder, Vahan.ai, said, “This partnership accelerates Vahan.ai’s ambition to build the most advanced AI-led infrastructure for employment in India’s informal sector. With LemmaTree’s backing and the integration of L.earn, we’re reimagining how workers access livelihoods – through voice-led interfaces, multilingual support, and embedded skills that adapt to each user’s context. The recruitment industry in India is undergoing a revolution, but for that growth to be sustainable and equitable, workers need both access and advancement. The focus now is on deepening personalisation, scaling across new industries and ensuring that every interaction on our platform moves a worker closer to long-term economic mobility. We’re building not just a hiring engine but a career ecosystem for Bharat.”

Glenn Gore, CEO of LemmaTree, said, “We are thrilled to join forces with Vahan as they redefine how businesses connect with frontline workers across india and beyond. Vahan innovative platform and passionate team are unlocking new opportunities for millions and driving both economic empowerment and operational efficiency. We look forward to supporting Vahan in its journey to create a more inclusive and dynamic workforce ecosystem.”

Founded in 2016 and based in Bengaluru, Vahan.ai is bridging gaps in digital literacy, language and infrastructure through its voice-based AI recruiter, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o. This technology enables job seekers to have natural conversations in English and Hindi via a simple phone call—making it easy to find jobs, apply, and schedule interviews.

To date, Vahan has helped place over 1 million workers across more than 920 cities and currently facilitates around 40,000 job placements each month for companies like Zepto, Swiggy, Blinkit, and Zomato.

The platform now plans to expand support to eight additional Indian languages, aiming to better serve job seekers in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Vahan also intends to enter new high-growth sectors and expand its footprint across India and into global markets, including Southeast Asia and the MENA region.
