Vingroup has signed a three-party agreement with the city of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Exposure SARL. This agreement sets up a partnership to work together on improving the city’s transportation system.

The goal of this partnership is to develop a modern, eco-friendly, and affordable public transport network in Kinshasa. This move is an important step toward upgrading the city’s infrastructure and supporting a cleaner, greener future for the capital.

Under this agreement, Vingroup, Exposure, and the Kinshasa city authorities will work together to study and introduce VinFast electric vehicles in the city. This includes electric buses, electric cars, and electric scooters to meet the daily travel needs of people in Kinshasa. Along with the vehicles, they will also build charging stations and provide proper service and maintenance support.

The partnership will mainly focus on making Kinshasa’s transport system cleaner and more modern. It will improve public transport, provide eco-friendly travel options for government employees and officials, and offer better transportation choices for the general public.

Vingroup, through its company VinFast, will prepare full business and technical plans for electric buses, cars, and scooters. Exposure will create a basic business plan for buying these vehicles and building charging stations. It will also handle local legal and government procedures needed for importing, selling, and running the operations. The Kinshasa city authorities will support the project by offering incentives such as tax benefits, clear rules, and access to infrastructure to promote green transport. The city will also appoint a special authority to manage the electric bus system.

The first phase of this partnership will continue until the end of the first quarter of 2026. During this time, all parties will work on finalizing official contracts to start the project properly.

Under this plan, VinFast is expected to supply about 500 electric buses and 1,000 electric cars for public use in Kinshasa. At the same time, VinFast and Exposure aim to bring 10,000 to 20,000 electric cars and 50,000 to 100,000 electric scooters to the local market.

Mrs. Phuong NGUYEN, General Director of Vingroup Africa shared: “Vingroup is honored to partner with the City of Kinshasa on the journey toward building a modern, civilized, and sustainable living environment. The deployment of green and smart mobility solutions will not only gradually transform Kinshasa’s urban transportation landscape, but also create long-term, tangible value by improving quality of life for residents and supporting the city in achieving its future sustainable development goals.”

These agreements show Vingroup’s strong global vision and its growing presence in international markets. They also highlight the company’s leading role in promoting clean and green transportation.

At the same time, the partnership helps strengthen economic ties between Vietnam and the Democratic Republic of Congo, as both countries work toward eco-friendly growth and sustainable development.
