WORQ and Bandar Utama City Group Launch New Coworking Space

WORQ, a coworking and flexible workspace provider from Malaysia, has partnered with Bandar Utama City Group to open a new outlet at KPMG Tower, 8 First Avenue, Bandar Utama.

WORQ said in a statement that this joint investment introduces a wellness-embedded, transit-oriented coworking model designed to help companies unlock their employees’ potential while elevating workplace well-being.

WORQ Bandar Utama is located in the center of Bandar Utama, with direct access to MRT and LRT stations. It sits in a busy business and lifestyle area that offers retail, dining, fitness, hotels, pickleball courts, and the 1 Utama Shopping Center.

The new space covers about 30,000 square feet and includes open-air balconies with outdoor work areas, relaxation zones, nap pods, nursing rooms, and game rooms — all designed to help reduce stress and boost productivity.

“Employee well-being isn’t just a perk, it’s a business advantage. Companies that invest in healthier, happier teams see stronger engagement, lower staff turnover, and higher
performance,

“With WORQ Bandar Utama, we’re showing how forward-thinking landlords and flexible space operators can create people-focused experiences at the workplace that unlock employees’ productivity, improve retention and motivate teams to future-proof workplaces,” said Stephanie Ping, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of WORQ.

WORQ, together with Bandar Utama City Group, helped invest in updating the coworking space at 8 First Avenue. This was part of a bigger refurbishment project to improve the building.

The upgrade added flexible workspaces to the Grade A office tower, which hosts many global companies. This approach helps building owners maintain and increase the value of their property.

Other improvements include a renovated lobby, better common areas, and eco-friendly features like electric vehicle chargers and energy-saving systems.

According to the statement, this strategic partnership between Bandar Utama City Group and WORQ demonstrates a forward-thinking landlord approach: enabling them to share in the revenue of a flex-space operator while enhancing building value and attracting a brand new market of myriad small teams and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into their building.

By adding flexible coworking spaces, landlords give their tenants more convenience. Tenants can rent short-term offices for project teams, temporary staff, or on-demand meeting and event rooms.

The coworking space also acts as a community hub, helping businesses in the area connect and collaborate.

“Our partnership with WORQ is key to transforming 8 First Avenue into a dynamic, people-centric office for the future. Beyond updating the physical space with a new lobby and other common area enhancements, we’re investing in the ‘soft’ aspects that bring a building to life,

“This includes building a thriving business community through having more convenient retail options such as MyNews, Anytime Fitness Gym and Salad Atelier (coming
soon) on the Ground Floor, and providing flexible workspace amenities for our long-term tenants,” said Teo Siu Ping, Leasing and Business Development.

“It also allows us to welcome smaller teams to our prime address, a market we couldn’t serve before,

“By offering flexible, wellness-focused workspaces, we’re meeting the evolving needs of modern businesses and positioning 8 First Avenue as a lifestyle-driven business destination for corporates of all sizes,” she added.
