Yinson GreenTech Partners with Saxon Renewables to Join EVolve Carbon Project

The partnership aims to generate verified carbon credits from Yinson GreenTech's eligible EV-related activities while supporting electric mobility and carbon market development in Malaysia.

Partnership Focus and Objectives

Under the agreement, Yinson GreenTech and Saxon Renewables will work together to integrate eligible EV charging infrastructure into the EVolve programme.

The partnership will focus on:

• Integrating eligible charging infrastructure into the carbon programme.
• Improving data collection and monitoring systems.
• Supporting independent verification of emissions reductions.
• Progressing towards carbon credit issuance.

Yinson GreenTech also plans to expand EV charging access and fleet electrification while exploring the programme's application across its wider electric mobility business.

"Every kilometre driven on electricity rather than fuel represents measurable emissions reductions, and that climate value should be recognised," said Kelvin Soon, Managing Director of EV Charging and Leasing at Yinson GreenTech.

He added that participation in EVolve could help strengthen the company's charging network and fleet electrification solutions while supporting sustainable mobility in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Reik Ong, Managing Director of Saxon Renewables, said the programme aims to convert the environmental benefits of EV charging into credible carbon credits. These credits could help support further investment in EV infrastructure.

Role of Saxon Renewables

Saxon Renewables brings experience in carbon project development across Asia. Under the partnership, it will combine its carbon market expertise with Yinson GreenTech's operational EV network.

The companies aim to develop high-integrity carbon credits supported by verifiable operational data and demonstrate the contribution of Malaysia's EV sector to regional carbon markets.

Yinson's Carbon Project Framework

The agreement marks the first technology-based carbon project developed under Yinson's Carbon Project Framework.

The framework guides the group's selection of carbon projects and partners based on integrity, project readiness and long-term value creation.
