ZEEKR Appoints Carro as Official Dealer in Malaysia

Zeekr, a premium electric car brand from China, has chosen Carro as its newest official dealer in Malaysia.

In a joint statement on Monday, the companies said this move shows Zeekr’s strong commitment to making it easier for people in Malaysia to buy and own electric vehicles (EVs), using the latest technology to shape the future of transport.

Both companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Monday at Carro’s main store in Puchong, Malaysia.

“The positive response we have received from the Malaysian market over the past few months reflects the growing appreciation for Zeekr’s premium electric vehicles,” said Alex Bao, Managing Director of Zeekr Southeast Asia.

He said this progress shows the company’s strong commitment to growing in Malaysia. The partnership with Carro is an important step forward helping to expand their sales network and improve after-sales services so they can better support their customers.

“This collaboration also aligns with our broader business strategy as we prepare for the introduction of our next important model, the Zeekr 7X, “he added.

Carro is the biggest online car marketplace in the Asia Pacific region and the top used car platform in Malaysia.

This new partnership is another big step for Carro as the company moves into selling new cars in a new market.

Back in March 2025, Carro started selling parallel-imported cars in Singapore. These cars come with warranty and after-sales support from Carro Care, along with financing options provided by its own company, Genie Financial Services.

“This is a fascinating step for us, as we offer even more automotive options to our customers in Malaysia,

“We’re seeing a growing market in Malaysia for hybrid and electric vehicles, with developing infrastructure and tax exemptions in place, and we’re ready to provide these services to Malaysians who are keen to make the switch to EVs,” said Fong Hon Sum, Chief Executive Officer of International Marketplace at Carro.

He said that Carro’s experience with electric vehicles (EVs) makes it well-prepared to handle vehicle checks, repairs, and maintenance. He also shared how excited the company is to partner with Zeekr.

Zeekr car owners can expect more convenience and easier access to EV services in the future. They will get the standard dealer warranty and can also use a full range of Carro’s services — including financing from Genie Financial Services, repair and maintenance from Carro Care, and insurance from Coverro.

Right now, there are three Zeekr showrooms, called Zeekr Space, located in Petaling Jaya and IOI Mall Puchong.

There are also plans to open four new Zeekr Space showrooms in Juru Autocity, Klang Valley, and Seremban, along with three new authorized Carro Care workshops, through Carro’s partnership with Zeekr.

Zeekr entered the Malaysian market in December 2024, launching two models — the 009 MPV and the X SUV. These two high-end electric vehicles are known for their advanced EV technology, spacious design, and great user experience.

Zeekr is based in Zhejiang, China, and is part of the Geely Holding Group, which focuses on premium new energy vehicles (electric cars).

With its two brands, Lynk & Co and Zeekr, the company aims to build a fully connected experience for users, where innovation is a key part of everything they do.

Zeekr is using advanced technology and expert knowledge to develop its software, electric power systems, and EV supply chain.

Carro, founded in 2015, has raised over S$700 million (about $546 million) from investors like Softbank Vision Fund and several government-backed funds.

In the financial year 2024, Carro achieved its best-ever results, earning S$43 million (around $33.56 million) before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA).
