Eqypt-Based Banque Misr and Visa Sign MoU to Support Startups

In order to improve knowledge sharing in the areas of payments and entrepreneurship, Mohamed El-Etreby, Chairman of Banque Misr, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malak Al-Baba, General Manager of Visa Egypt.

Through this partnership, the bank’s “Taqdar” program—which aims to promote innovation and growth—will provide help to businesses.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Mohamed El-Sebban, Head of Strategic Projects at Banque Misr, and Hossam El-Din Abdel Wahab, Vice Chairman of the bank.

The ceremony is a major step in meeting the demands of the entrepreneurs in the “Taqdar” program and bringing global best practices into line.

Through this agreement, the demands of entrepreneurs taking part in Banque Misr’s “Taqdar” accelerator program will be met in accordance with both domestic and global market norms.

This deal is a part of the bank’s larger plan to start an open innovation program, encourage entrepreneurship, and provide the bank with the resources and know-how to carry out its innovation strategy and help start-up businesses.

Through training sessions and hands-on courses, the partnership will improve entrepreneurs’ understanding of financial services.

It will give business owners and startups access to Visa’s payment and financial technology specialists’ advice services. Through interactive seminars and idea exchanges, the collaboration will also look into cooperative prospects and promote collaborative innovation in financial services.
