Cybord, a visual AI solution that guarantees the quality, authenticity, and traceability of electronic components, announced that it has raised $8.7 million in Series A funding, led by Capri Ventures. Other new and current investors in the funding round include Ocean Azul Partners, IL Ventures, and NextLeap Ventures.

Cybord, which partners with top manufacturers like Flex and Siemens, is incorporated into more than 60 production lines globally and inspects millions of electronic components every day. The company’s growth will be accelerated by this latest capital, which will also be utilized to expand the breakthrough solution’s worldwide distribution.

The industry’s pressing requirement to address electronic component quality in order to preserve product integrity, consumer confidence, and manufacturers’ financial lines is met by the Cybord solution. Up until now, there has been a lot of neglect placed on the quality and security of electronic components, which has raised the likelihood of failures and expensive recalls, which peaked in 2023. Due to the inconsistent quality of electronic components, electronic boards and products must be scrapped and reworked time-consumingly and expensively. Additionally, significant capital must be set aside in case of warranty claims, and recalls can result in recall costs costing millions or even billions of dollars in lost revenue.

Cybord’s machine learning model is the state-of-the-art in artificial intelligence for electronics production, with a database that contains more than four billion components and counting. With 99.9% accuracy, the visual AI solution stops broken, faulty, and fake components from being put together onto PCBAs in real time while they are being placed on the assembly line.

By doing this, Cybord provides EMSs and OEMs with unmatched reliability and visibility, ensuring component quality, authenticity, and forensic traceability at the component level. This results in better-quality electronic products, more efficient manufacturing, lower costs, and fewer recalls.

Cybord has demonstrated a disruptive approach to solving the pressing challenges of component quality, safety, and traceability in today’s sensitive global supply chains,” said Elad Frenkel, Managing Partner of ILVP “Cybord’s solutions are accelerating the electronics industry, and we are delighted to have played a role in their journey from seed stage to this milestone and look forward to continuing to support their growth.”
