SurgiBox Inc., an innovative portable surgical company, is delighted to have partnered with the Japanese medical distributor Accord International to offer the SurgiField technology in Japan.

Having received approval from Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), this partnership will allow more locations across the nation to have access to sterile, transportable surgical spaces.

Through this partnership, the concept of SurgiField, a portable and inflatable sterile surgical environment that may be used in any setting, will be expanded to other regions. With this strategic alliance, SurgiBox will be able to provide demandable and portable surgical technologies to hospitals, emergency medical teams, and other healthcare institutions in regions of Japan that are most vulnerable to disastrous natural catastrophes.
Dr. Tomohisa Shoko, M.D., Ph.D., Professor and Director of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at Tokyo Women’s University Adachi Medical Center, conducted experienced field surgery with the SurgiField system and, for that, experienced a simulation field surgery practice even in the ambulance. He said that the operation was possible with the help of this technology, and he also mentioned the prospects of such surgeries other than in an operation theatre, which is the first such case in Japan.
