DMCC, a central international business district in Dubai, has seen a 13% increase in Singaporean companies joining in the past year.
This was shared during DMCC’s first roadshow in Singapore, which was aimed at attracting more businesses. DMCC now hosts over half of all Singaporean companies operating in the UAE.
DMCC has partnered with Hawksford, a global business services company, to make it easier for new businesses to set up in its district.
Hawksford will help with business advice, registration, accounting, and taxes. This will attract more companies especially in tech, innovation, and sustainability and help them grow and run smoothly from Dubai.
Singapore is an important market for DMCC, with many business opportunities in areas like technology, trade, and commodities. As more Singaporean companies look to grow and become more efficient through Dubai, the connection between the two is getting stronger.
Nearly 400 Singaporean companies are now registered in DMCC, making it a key hub for Southeast Asian businesses that want to expand globally.
At the event, top DMCC leaders met with over 100 business leaders from Singapore. They shared helpful information on how Dubai can help companies grow internationally and explore new investment opportunities.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, said: “Our first in-person Made For Trade Live roadshow in Singapore comes at a time of accelerating cooperation between our two nations, with bilateral trade reaching USD 18.7 billion last year. This momentum is echoed by a 13% rise in Singaporean companies joining DMCC over the past 12 months, bringing the total to nearly 400 – accounting for more than half of all Singaporean businesses in the UAE. As our partnership deepens, our new agreement with Hawksford as our local partner will further reinforce DMCC’s position as the business district of choice for Singaporean firms seeking global expansion from Dubai.”
Tommaso Barindelli, Head of Business Development, Hawksford Dubai, added: “We are delighted to be appointed as an International Service Provider by DMCC. With our on-the-ground expertise in Singapore and other key markets, we are ideally placed to help clients seize the unique advantages of DMCC and Dubai – whether they are entering the UAE for the first time or looking to expand across Asia, the Middle East and Africa. This partnership marks a significant milestone for our firm and a valuable opportunity for our current and future clients.”
The partnership with Hawksford is part of DMCC’s bigger plan to create a global network of trusted partners. This will make it easier for foreign investors to start businesses and get the right support based on their needs and locations.
DMCC is now home to over 25,000 companies from 180 countries, representing all kinds of industries. It brings in 15% of Dubai’s yearly foreign investment and makes up 7% of the city’s economy, playing a big role in making Dubai a top global business center.
