Cursor Appoints Simon Green as President for Asia Pacific and Japan

AI coding company Cursor has appointed Simon Green as the President for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

The company will use Singapore as its regional headquarters as it grows its presence across Asia.

Green will lead Cursor’s business expansion in markets such as Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, India, and Indonesia. He will also focus on building the regional team and hiring talent from Singapore.

According to Green, AI is increasingly central to how organisations operate. “AI is rapidly becoming core to how organisations operate and grow,” he said, adding that APJ presents opportunities for businesses and governments to apply AI to modernise systems and improve services.

Green said he was drawn to Cursor’s focus on software development. “Cursor is changing how software gets created across industries,” he said, adding that the APJ strategy will focus on building teams close to customers.

Brian McCarthy, President of Global Revenue and Field Operations at Cursor, said Simon Green’s appointment will help the company grow faster in the region as more businesses start using AI software development tools.

Cursor’s decision to appoint Simon Green shows that the company sees Asia Pacific and Japan as an important growth market, not just a place for sales operations.

By setting up a regional headquarters in Singapore, building a local team, and expanding across multiple countries, Cursor is making a long-term commitment to grow its business in the APJ region.
