DualBird Raises $17 Million Series A Led by Lightspeed to Boost Enterprise Data Performance

DualBird, an Israeli startup focused on transforming how companies manage and use data, has raised $17 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Uncork Capital, and Angular Ventures.

Before this, the company had already raised $8 million in Seed funding.

DualBird works at the intersection of hardware and software, offering a cloud-based engine that gives hardware-level speed and performance — without requiring companies to make big changes to their existing systems.

DualBird says that with its simple plug-in, companies can make their systems run 10 to 100 times faster while cutting costs by 50 to 90 percent.

The new funding will help the company grow its presence and support large-scale, mission-critical operations for more enterprises.

This funding comes at a time when companies are struggling with rapidly increasing computing needs.

According to McKinsey, by 2030, businesses will need to invest almost $7 trillion in new data centers to keep up with demand — and AI-related workloads will make up over 75% of that growth.

Current solutions, like adding more GPUs, tuning runtimes, or expanding infrastructure, only provide short-term fixes and are becoming too expensive for many companies.

The founders — Gilad Tal, Amir Gilad, Ehud Eliaz, and Ohad Gamliel — have strong experience from Amazon AWS and the semiconductor industry. Three of them have worked in both hardware and software, giving the team a wide range of skills. The company currently has 30 employees.

“Data processing is the biggest workload still stuck on general-purpose CPUs. It deserves purpose-built processors just like AI has GPUs,” said Amir Gilad, DualBird’s co-founder and CEO. “Companies are pouring millions into data pipelines, AI data infrastructure, and analytics, but existing architecture cannot keep up.”
