Software company Tulip is acquiring Israeli startup Akooda, which focuses on smart search technology. The deal amount hasn’t been officially shared, but it is estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars.
Tulip, led by CEO and co-founder Dr. Natan Linder, already has offices in Boston, Munich, Budapest, and Singapore. After the acquisition, the company will set up an R&D center in Israel to speed up the development of AI solutions for its customers.
Tulip has raised a total of $153 million so far. In its most recent funding round—led by Insight Partners and supported by Israeli fund Pitango—the company was valued at $800 million after the investment.
The company works with major global industrial brands, including DMG Mori, Johnson & Johnson, and Stanley Black & Decker.
Akooda was founded in 2021 by CEO Yuval Gonczarowski and CTO Itamar Niddam, who are 8200 graduates and met while studying at the Technion. The startup built a platform that connects to all of a company’s internal tools and analyzes its data to show how work is happening, where delays occur, and how decisions are made.
Akooda raised $11 million from investors like NFX, Village Global (backed by Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg), Founder Collective (one of Uber’s first investors), and Atlassian’s investment arm. After the acquisition, all Akooda employees will join Tulip’s R&D center in Tel Aviv and collaborate closely with the engineering team in Munich.
Tulip said the acquisition strengthens its mission to help organizations and factories improve their operations and manufacturing processes through digitization and personalized technology.
By integrating Akooda’s technology, Tulip will be able to offer the next generation of AI-powered, personalized tools within its operations platform, giving production-floor teams real-time insights to make faster, better, and safer decisions.
