Temasek Names Piyush Gupta as India Chairman

Temasek International has named Piyush Gupta, former CEO of DBS Group Holdings, as chairman of its operations in India, starting December 1.

In his non-executive role, Gupta will collaborate with Ravi Lambah, Temasek’s head of India and Strategic Initiatives, along with the broader India team, to guide the company’s investment strategies.

He will also support Temasek’s portfolio companies in exploring opportunities in India and engage with the Indian government and business communities to strengthen Temasek’s institutional presence in the country.

Piyush Gupta, the former DBS CEO, is currently the deputy chairman of Keppel, chairman of the board of trustees at Singapore Management University, and chairman of Mandai Park Holdings Board.

He also serves as a senior advisor to several local and global companies, bringing extensive expertise to his leadership roles.

“Piyush brings extensive business insights and strong connections developed over decades in financial services,” said Dilhan Pillay, the executive director and chief executive officer of Temasek Holdings.

“Complementing Ravi’s leadership of our India market, he will provide strategic counsel and help strengthen our institutional networks in India and beyond, enhance our franchise value, and expand our portfolio access.”

Piyush Gupta said: “I look forward to collaborating with the team to deepen partnerships, pursue new opportunities, and contribute to Temasek’s continued growth in India,” he added.
