Tata Group, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and OpenAI have teamed up to build AI-powered solutions for different industries.
As part of this partnership, TCS will use OpenAI’s ChatGPT within its own operations, and both companies will work together to offer AI solutions to clients. They also plan to develop AI agents (smart programs that can perform tasks automatically), use TCS’s data centres to support AI projects, and launch AI-based initiatives that create positive social impact.
This partnership comes soon after TCS introduced HyperVault, a special unit focused on AI and sovereign data centres. HyperVault will offer advanced, liquid-cooled and high-capacity data centres for large tech companies, AI firms, enterprises, and government organizations.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said, “India is already leading the way in AI adoption, and with its talent, ambition, and strong government support, it is well placed to help shape its future. Through OpenAI for India and our partnership with Tata Group, we’re working together to build the infrastructure, skills, and local partnerships needed to build AI with India, for India, and in India, so that more people across the country can access and benefit from it.”
Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said, “This deep collaboration between OpenAI and Tata Group marks a major milestone in India’s vision to become a global leader in AI. We are pleased to partner with OpenAI to create state-of-the-art AI infrastructure in India. This is a unique opportunity for OpenAI and TCS to transform industries. Together we will skill India’s youth and empower them to succeed in the AI era.”
The partnership with OpenAI will help in running AI systems locally in India. This will support the growing need for powerful computers and data centres required to handle heavy AI workloads.
For OpenAI, this deal is part of its larger “Stargate” project. The Stargate Project is a major plan led by SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX. Together, they plan to invest $500 billion to build strong AI infrastructure, including advanced data centres and computing systems.
Tata Group has announced a new partnership with OpenAI to increase the use of AI across its companies and help build strong AI infrastructure in India.
Under this agreement, thousands of Tata Group employees will get access to Enterprise ChatGPT to improve their daily work. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will also use OpenAI’s Codex tools to make software development faster and more efficient.
Together, TCS and OpenAI will create AI solutions designed for specific industries. They will offer these solutions to businesses in India and other countries, helping companies adopt and scale AI more easily.
