Thunes, a company that helps move money across countries, has expanded its Direct Global Network by launching real-time Pay-to-Bank services in New Zealand.
This update makes cross-border payments in the Asia-Pacific region faster and more transparent. Businesses and individuals can now send money more easily.
Users can send New Zealand dollars (NZD) directly to bank accounts in New Zealand. Payments can be made using Thunes’ direct API or through existing SWIFT connections.
New Zealand is improving its financial systems to support real-time digital payments and the growing gig economy. Real-time transactions in the country are expected to grow by about 21.3% each year until 2027.
“At Thunes, we’re dismantling the legacy friction that creates barriers to the global digital economy. Asia Pacific is where the Thunes story began, so we are especially pleased to be strengthening our reach in a high-growth market like New Zealand. Geography should never hinder ambition, and we are proud to be the engine driving financial connectivity, providing the infrastructure that supports and empowers businesses and individuals to benefit from international money movement and participate more fully in the global economy.” Eugene Chua, Head of Network, APAC, at Thunes
With this expansion, Thunes is strengthening its position as a top company for real-time international payments. Its network uses its own SmartX system, which uses AI to predict and manage money flow in real time, and its Fortress platform, which follows strict rules and has over 50 licences worldwide.
This helps make sure that every payment is safe, follows regulations, and is processed smoothly and efficiently.
