HealthMutual Group and HK Data partner to simplify cross-border healthcare with AI platform

HealthMutual Group (HMG) and Hong Kong Data Ltd. (HK Data), earlier known as CU Datahub, have signed a partnership agreement to develop and expand a new electronic Third-Party Administrator (eTPA) system.

This partnership aims to build a more data-driven insurance system by using advanced AI to improve and simplify healthcare services across different countries.

The partnership focuses on HealthMutual Group using HK Data’s special technology called Trusted Cross-border Data Space (TCDS). This system will help the company achieve its long-term goals by making data sharing easier and more secure. It will allow over 700,000 members to access healthcare services smoothly, without problems caused by borders between countries.

The new eTPA system improves the entire insurance process by making it digital. It creates a “medical concierge” experience, where services are handled automatically and securely, making things faster and more convenient for users.

The platform connects top hospitals in the Greater Bay Area with Hong Kong insurance companies. It offers a complete solution, including policy management and easy mobile claims. This system also reduces costs while keeping patient data safe and secure.

Mr. KC Chan, Founder of HealthMutual Group, noted the significance of the partnership. He said, “this cooperation is a natural progression of the vision we held when establishing HMG: to ensure that medical insurance remains a sustainable funding source for Hong Kong healthcare. Facilitating smooth cross-border medical activity is essential to achieving that goal. By teaming up with a leader in AI and data security, we are leveraging our deep experience in medical concierge services to better serve the broader insurance industry.”

Mr. Aldous Ng, Founder and CEO of Hong Kong Data Ltd., added: “We are proud to partner with HMG to deploy world-leading technologies for the public good. Our TCDS platform connects key stakeholders—from Grade 3A hospitals to financial institutions—ensuring that patients seeking treatment in the Chinese Mainland can enjoy ‘one-tap access’ with total peace of mind. We provide a trusted space where innovation directly benefits the people of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

HealthMutual Group was founded in 2014 and has become a leading company in healthcare management across Hong Kong and Greater China. The company focuses on using healthcare services to support insurance as a reliable way to fund medical care, offering solutions like its Medical Concierge and other value-added services.

Hong Kong Data Limited (HK Data), earlier known as CU Datahub, is working to build a trusted system for sharing data across countries, called the Trusted Cross-border Data Space (TCDS). This system aims to make global data sharing safe, fast, and efficient.

The company’s goal is to provide businesses and individuals with a secure, reliable, and real-time platform for managing and sharing data worldwide.
