Pine Labs has partnered with GCash for Business as it enters the Philippines market.
With this partnership, GCash for Business becomes Pine Labs’ first payment partner in the country.
Under the deal, Pine Labs will provide payment technology support for GCash for Business. The company will also help bring more merchants onto the platform using its point-of-sale software and other business services.
The partnership will introduce instalment payment options, rewards programs, loyalty benefits, and cashback offers to GCash’s merchant payment system. It will also allow merchants to accept different types of digital payments, including card payments and QR-code based transactions, the company said.
Pine Labs said the partnership aims to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines by providing better digital payment infrastructure through GCash’s merchant network.
“GCash helps Filipino entrepreneurs grow by giving them simple, reliable ways to accept payments and manage their daily operations,” said Paul Albano, General Manager and Head of GCash for Business.
“With our collaboration with Pine Labs, merchants can now offer more payment choices and added perks, making it easier for their businesses to expand and serve more customers,” he added.
GCash for Business already provides tools like PocketPay, which turns smartphones into payment machines, and SoundPay, which gives instant audio alerts for successful payments.
With Pine Labs’ technology integration, merchants will now be able to accept both card payments and QR-code payments through a single point-of-sale system.
Dheeraj Chowdhry, Chief Business Officer – Southeast Asia at Pine Labs, said the partnership will help deliver “high-performance software integrations, smarter payment flows, and powerful value-added services” to merchants in the Philippines.
Pine Labs said it already operates a locally incorporated entity in the Philippines and currently powers one of the country’s largest gift card programmes for SM Retail Inc.
