SUMMARY
- Apate.AI raised $8.15M in Seed funding.
- The round was led by Lobby Capital.
- The company will expand into North America and Europe.
Apate.AI builds AI agents that behave like real cyber attackers. These AI agents enter fraud networks to study how scammers operate and identify the methods they use.
The company uses this information to help banks, businesses and other organizations better understand fraud and take action to detect and prevent attacks.
Cofounder and CEO Prof. Dali Kaafar said that for the first time, the people defending against fraud can get ahead of it.
“Our agents engage scammers directly, waste their time and money, and turn their tactics into intelligence that protects the people they target,” he said.
“This round takes that to institutions and their customers worldwide.”
Apate.AI will use the new funding to expand into international markets and improve its platform. The company has set up a business in Delaware as part of its plan to enter the North American market.
The company is also opening a new office in London to support its growth in Europe. At the same time, Apate.AI will continue to keep its research and technology teams in Sydney.
Founded by Dali Kaafar and Peter Eckermann, Apate.AI develops voice and text-based AI agents that pretend to be potential victims. These AI agents interact with scammers, keeping them busy while collecting real-time information about their activities.
The company provides this intelligence to banks, telecom companies and government agencies, helping them better understand fraud networks and protect people from scams.
