BigBasket Starts 10-Minute Food Delivery with Starbucks and Qmin in Bengaluru

BigBasket has started delivering food in just 10 minutes in some areas of Bengaluru.

This happened five months after co-founder and CEO Hari Menon posted on X that the Tata-owned company would begin food delivery in 2025.

In his December 2024 post, he also said the company plans to offer over 30,000 products in big cities and start delivering medicines through Tata 1mg.

Currently, the fast delivery service includes food from Starbucks (a joint venture between Tata and Starbucks) and Qmin, a food platform run by Indian Hotels Company (IHCL).

Qmin is a food delivery service started in 2020 by IHCL, a Tata-owned company. It has an app where people can order food from Tata’s hotels and restaurants.

Qmin also has cafés that sell baked goods, sweets, and drinks. There are 11 Qmin cafés in Bengaluru.

As part of its 10-minute delivery service, BigBasket is delivering drinks like coffee, tea, and juice, as well as snacks, meal bowls, and desserts.

At the same time, more people want fast food delivery. Quick delivery apps like Zepto (Zepto Cafe), Swiggy (Snacc), and Blinkit (Bistro) are growing and adding more items to their menus.

Earlier this month, Zepto stopped its Zepto Cafe service in several cities like Delhi, Agra, and Chandigarh, which affected over 40 stores. The company said this happened because of supply problems, but the service is still available in big metro cities.
