The initiative is part of a broader effort to provide CIC students with access to early-stage capital and mentorship, ensuring they have the tools to transform their innovative ideas into successful ventures.

The fund was introduced at a debut event that drew over a thousand students. It will support student-led initiatives with funding and strategic advice, with an emphasis on early-stage projects. This project expands on Bokra’s previous success, which began with the startup’s $4.6 million pre-seed financing round earlier this year.

Ayman El-Sawy, Founder and CEO of Bokra, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fostering the region’s startup ecosystem: “Our mission at Bokra is crystal clear: we make financial goals a reality. Our partnership with CIC is reflective of our commitment to cultivate a more mature and dynamic startup ecosystem by empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs with the essential tools, resources, and funding they need to not just succeed, but to thrive.”

“Through our EGP 10 million fund, we are paving the way for a new era of innovation and progress in Egypt by building a future where entrepreneurship is not just a dream but a tangible reality for all who dare to innovate and create change,” he added.

Magdy El Kady, Chairman of CIC, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are immensely proud to join forces with a trailblazer like Bokra in this transformative initiative. Together, we are creating opportunities for the next generation of innovators to unleash their potential and drive positive change in our society and economy.” Since its establishment in 2004, CIC has been dedicated to providing world-class education through its partnership with Cape Breton University, fostering a strong foundation for Egypt’s next generation of leaders.

This collaboration is a component of the recently established “Bokra Academy,” an endeavor to close the knowledge gap between academic study and the real-world demands of the workplace. CIC, the pioneer of Canadian education in Egypt, has a proven track record of supplying students with the tools they need to succeed both domestically and internationally. Free online courses in important subjects like corporate law, technology, marketing, artificial intelligence, and financial planning will be provided by the Bokra Academy. Students will be able to lay a strong foundation for their business endeavors with the aid of these accredited programs.

In addition to being able to work for Bokra and its affiliated organizations, graduates of Bokra Academy will also be given priority in applying for funding from the EGP 10 million student fund. With the help of financial resources and guidance, this all-inclusive support system seeks to assist students in bringing their company ideas to reality, guiding them from education to entrepreneurship.
